This week= 5 brushes that make putting on my make up each morning a little more fabulous. I just started using these. My sister has been trying to educate me on my make up. It's a slow process. She came to my house to do my make up one day and rolled out a red carpet looking thing that had more brushes in it then Lowe's does. I'm not that deep in it. But, I will admit, these brushes are great. I use a combination of Jane Iredale and MaryKay brushes.
1.) Foundation brush- I use this brush to apply my Jane Iredale Dream Tint (which is a foundation/sunscreen/moisturizer in one). This one has some natural goat hair in it. Little circle motions make it go on very smooth and evenly.
2.) Powder brush- Next comes the powder. Apparently, you gotta have another brush for this. I'm still learning. You need a big, fluffy one for this job. One with long bristles. Another tip for you- make little up and down motions to put your powder on. Wiping motions just wipe it off- who knew? Use this brush again after you have put your eyeshadow on to wipe away any extra shadow that may have gotten on your cheeks.
3.) Blush brush- Seriously? You need another brush for this? Yep. A short bristled, fat one. Dab the blush on your cheek bones only.
4.) Shader brush- This one is for blending your eye shadows. You should not be able to tell where one color ends and another begins on your eyes. You have to blend the colors together. No more little foam shadow applicators. Invest in a shadow brush.
5.) Smudge Brush- This is a very short, flate, stiff brush used to smudge your eyeliner. For whatever it's worth- this one is made of pony hair :) Apply a VERY thin line of eyeliner on your top lid only. *The Queen* says that eyeliner on your bottom lid draws your eye down and closes it. After you put it on the top one, use the smudger to make the line more natural. You can purchase an eyeliner smudger brush or sometimes you can find eyeliners with them on the opposite end.
